Acceptable Use Policy

Short version: SetFork hosts collaborative lists from all over the world, and that collaboration only works when our users work together in good faith. While using the Service, you must comply with this policy, which includes restrictions on content and conduct related to user safety, intellectual property, privacy, and authenticity. In short, be excellent to each other.

Capitalized terms used but not defined here have the meanings assigned to them in the Terms of Service.

1. Compliance with laws and regulations

You are responsible for using the Service in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, in addition to this policy.

2. User safety

We do not allow content or activity on SetFork that:

• is unlawful or promotes unlawful activities;
• is sexually obscene or relates to sexual exploitation or abuse, including of minors;
• is libelous, defamatory, or fraudulent;
• is discriminatory or abusive toward any individual or group;
• is false, inaccurate, or intentionally deceptive information likely to adversely affect the public interest (including health, safety, election integrity, and civic participation);
• harasses or abuses another individual or group, or other users;
• threatens or incites violence toward any individual or group; or
• gratuitously depicts or glorifies violence.

3. Intellectual property, authenticity, and private information

We do not allow content or activity on SetFork that:

• infringes any proprietary right of any party, including patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, right of publicity, or other right (for copyright complaints, see our Copyright Policy);
• shares unauthorized product licensing keys, software for generating them, or software for bypassing license checks;
• impersonates any person or entity, including through false association with SetFork; or
• violates the privacy of any third party, such as by posting another person's personal information without consent.

4. Spam and inauthentic activity

We do not allow content or activity on SetFork that is:

• automated excessive bulk activity or coordinated inauthentic activity, such as spamming;
• inauthentic interactions, such as fake accounts and automated inauthentic activity;
• rank abuse, such as automated starring or forking;
• phishing or attempted phishing;
• link farming or publishing lists whose primary purpose is advertising, traffic redirection, or search-ranking manipulation rather than genuinely useful content; or
• use of our servers for any form of excessive automated bulk activity or to relay unsolicited advertising or solicitation.

5. Site access and safety

We do not allow content or activity that directly supports unlawful active attack or malware campaigns causing technical harm, or that uses our servers to disrupt or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any service, device, data, account, or network.

6. Advertising and promotion

The primary focus of the content you post to the Service should not be advertising or promotional marketing. You may include links and promotional text where they are genuinely related to the list you are publishing. If you post promotional material — including affiliate links — you are solely responsible for complying with all applicable laws and regulations, including disclosure requirements such as the U.S. FTC's Guidelines on Endorsements. We reserve the right to remove promotional material at our discretion.

7. Information usage restrictions

You may use public, non-personal information from the Service for research and archival purposes. You may not use information from the Service (whether scraped, collected through the API, or obtained otherwise) for spamming purposes, including sending unsolicited emails to users or selling personal information. Any collection of data from the Service must comply with the Privacy Policy.

8. User protection

You must not engage in activity that significantly harms other users. We will interpret our policies and resolve disputes in favor of protecting users as a whole.

Enforcement and moderation. New public lists are held for automated review before becoming publicly visible; lists that violate this policy may be flagged, hidden, or removed, and accounts may be suspended or terminated. SetFork retains full discretion in enforcement.

Appeals. If your list has been flagged and you believe this was a mistake, use the appeal action shown on the list's moderation banner, or contact support@setfork.com.
